QUALITY POLICY

MG Engineering Pty Ltd manages and constructs large projects which consist largely of steel material, particularly for the Defence, Maritime (ship-building), Oil, Gas and Construction industries. The type of specialised services we provide are plate fabrication, marine fabrication (ship-building), pipe fabrication/pressure welding, installation and mechanical fitting, modular construction, barging/delivery of modules via ocean, project management and site work.
The Company is committed to producing and supplying quality products and services that meet our customers’ requirements and budgets. Strongly based on customer needs, our solutions ensure the quality of a project is maintained from beginning to completion.
MG Engineering is committed to compliance with all relevant federal, state and local government legislation and regulations, and will ensure industry standards and norms are always met or exceeded.
To ensure the Company grows at a controlled rate and continues to meet contractual obligations, the Company undertakes formal planning for which objectives, targets and performance indicators are established and regularly reviewed. These objectives are formally reviewed during strategic management review meetings and, more regularly, during operational meetings.
Management is dedicated to the philosophy of continual improvement. To support this philosophy, MG Engineering has developed and implemented an Integrated Management System which complies with the quality management system requirements of ISO 9001:2008, the safety management system requirements of AS 4801:2001 and the environmental management systems requirements of ISO 14001:2004. Moreover, the Company is third party certified to these international standards by TQCS International assuring our customers of our commitment to provide a quality service in a safe working environment.
MG Engineering employs highly skilled, qualified staff operating with modern and efficient plant and equipment, and ensures they have adequate resources to work effectively and fully understand the requirements of the Integrated Management System. Moreover, all sub-contractors are selected on their ability to complete their tasks effectively, on time and within budget. This is assured through management’s ‘hands-on’ approach to on-site management.
Management fully endorse this Quality Policy and the Integrated Management System that has been implemented. It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure it is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels within the Company.

SAFETY POLICY

MG Engineering Pty Ltd recognises our moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees and is, therefore, committed to conducting operations in a manner that will safeguard the health and safety of all employees, sub-contractors and visitors.

MG Engineering will:

  • ensure compliance with legislative WHS requirements, codes of conduct, respective industry standards and applicable customer requirements
  • provide adequate resources to maintain safe systems of work
  • establish measurable objectives and targets to ensure continued improvement aimed at eliminating work-related injuries and illness, and improved WHS performance
  • identify safety hazards, risk assess them and implement controls for operational processes through documented safe work method statements (SWMS) and for equipment through safe operating procedures (SWPs)
  • identify safety hazards, risk assess them and implement controls at temporary sites through job safety/environmental analysis (JSEAs)
  • provide relevant work health safety information, instruction, training and supervision to management, employees, sub-contractors and visitors as is necessary to ensure their safety
  • consult with employees on work health safety issues
  • provide support and resources to managers, supervisors and employees to help them fulfil their legal WHS duties and hold them accountable for fulfilling them.

To achieve our workplace safety objectives, we have implemented an Integrated Management System, which includes safety management requirements, and will maintain certification against AS 4801:2001.

All MG Engineering employees are responsible for:

  • taking care of the health and safety of other people who might be affected by their work
  • controlling and reporting any safety hazards they identify
  • complying with all workplace safety procedures, rules and safe systems of work.

This Safety Policy applies equally to employees and sub-contractors when working on-site or at customers’ premises.  Management fully endorse this Safety Policy and the Integrated Management System that has been implemented.  It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure it is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels within the Company.

ENVIRONMENT POLICY

MG Engineering Pty Ltd is committed to preventing pollution and environmental impacts directly or indirectly related to our processes, products and services.

Accordingly, we will:

  • comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations, and any relevant customer requirements
  • identify environmental aspects and impacts and, wherever practicable, limit or eliminate any adverse impacts that are within our control
  • ensure, wherever feasible, the efficient use of resources such as water, gas and electricity, limiting and recycling waste
  • educate, train and provide sufficient resources, including identifying clear roles, responsibilities and authorities, to our employees, as well as where appropriate, to sub-contractors and visitors, so that all relevant parties understand environmental issues and the environmental effects of their activities
  • monitor, through operational and management review meetings, and systematic auditing, the continual improvement of our environmental performance towards established objectives
  • develop and maintain operational procedures to minimise and handle any emergencies should they occur.

To achieve our environmental objectives, we have implemented an Integrated Management System, which includes environmental management system requirements, and maintain certification against ISO 14001:2004.

Management support this Environmental Policy and the Integrated Management System that has been integrated.  It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure it is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels within the Company.
